Loaded with culture and a vast array of differing landscapes, mountain trails meander through centuries-old townships and monasteries straddle ridgelines against a peak-studded backdrop. Georgia is one of the most extraordinary and underexplored destinations on earth — and we have it almost entirely to ourselves.
Our journey begins in lively Tbilisi — reputed to be one of the coolest cities in Europe — where we get a slice of Georgian culture, good food and wine before heading to the mountain kingdom of Svaneti. Here we spend five core days traversing trails that dip in and out of picturesque mountain villages, alpine meadows and snow-capped peaks rising above 5,000m.
We experience the very best Georgia has to offer — glaciers, waterfalls and empty trails. Nightly accommodation is cosy local guesthouses with delicious Georgian cuisine and wine to ensure we're well rested and recovered for the next day's adventure.
One of the coolest capitals in Europe, Tbilisi has no shortage of classy modern hotels. The Glarros is amazingly located in the capital's old town — the perfect place to absorb Georgian culture, food and wine before and after the mountains.
Family-run guesthouses form the backbone of accommodation in the mountains — clean, charming and full of character, serving up ample amounts of delicious Georgian cuisine. In the remote villages of Adishi and Ushguli facilities are simple but provide everything needed for a night in the high mountains.

Book Your Free Call →We specialise in arranging excellent trail running holidays but do not book international flights. There is a great variety of flights departing from all over the world to Tbilisi International Airport (TBS).
The vast majority of flights arrive in Tbilisi in the very early hours of the morning — usually around 4am. We will discuss our trusted and recommended ways to book international flights through excellent ATOL-protected partners who offer great value, ease of service and flight protection.
British, American and EU citizens can enter and remain in Georgia for a maximum of 365 days without a visa. We recommend checking the latest entry requirements for your nationality before booking.
Being a group of max. 12 runners with a mixture of ages and running abilities, we may decide to split into flexible groups — all of which will be supported by our Georgian running guides who travel with us throughout the trip.
Splitting the group allows everyone to move more fluidly, running at their own comfortable pace without feeling pressured.
Trail running in Georgia is spectacular, with very few other groups delivering experiences in this style. The country is still well off the beaten path, with very few travellers making it to the Georgian Caucasus — so expect the trails to be empty.
We'll travel through alpine meadows, past waterfalls and glaciers, on quiet mountain trails. At times we will cross from one valley to the next, climbing steeper paths with boulder and dry rock sections. Our maximum altitude reaches around 2,970m.
Large luggage is transported by vehicle from point to point throughout the trip.
Travelling to Georgia in July is peak season and we can expect temperatures in the mid-20s °C. In the mountains the air is refreshing and a touch cooler, with very pleasant daytime temperatures. At night temperatures can drop to the high teens °C. We anticipate the conditions to be perfect for trail running.
