OUR ITINERARY
DAY 1 | ARRIVE INTO ATHENS (ATH) - TRANSFER TO NAFPLIO & ONTO NEMEA
Welcome to Greece!
Arrival at Athens Airport (ATH) where we’ll arrange for a private group transfer to Nafplio, the first capital of modern Greece, which marks an ideal starting point to get our adventure underway.
We’ll head out for a light walk and a coffee along the harbour, up to Palamidi Castle for sparkling views over the Argolic Gulf.
In the afternoon we have the option to visit Nemea, land of vineyards and the myth, and the Archaeological Site of Nemea, where Heracles defeated the Nemean Lion. This will be followed by wine tasting & a welcome dinner at a local vineyard.
Relax and unwind.
Overnight Nemea
DAY 2 | THE HINDS TRAIL - ROOF OF ARCADIA
Trail Running: Approx. 15km
After breakfast this morning we depart from the hotel and drive south where we start on the Hind's Trail, which follows the myth of Heracles' chase of the Ceryneian Hind to the summit of Megali Tourla (1,934m).
Our trail takes us through alpine forests, along high ridge lines with breathtaking views to the Aegean Sea.
Once we have finished running we’ll have a late lunch at a traditional tavern and drive to the town of Leonidio, nestled between sea and cliffs.
After some time to relax and freshen up back at the hotel, we’ll try a Tsakonian cooking workshop where we learn to cook with locals in Greece’s only surviving Doric dialect community.
Overnight Leonidio
DAY 3 | THE BOAR'S PATH - CHESTNUT FORESTS & HANGING MONASTERIES
Trail Running: Approx. 17km
This morning we’ll embark on our trail run as we head from Agios Vasileios to Kosmas village, tracing the highland forests where Heracles hunted the Erymanthian Boar.
The trail routes over ancient cobbled paths, chestnut groves, pine forests, and spring-fed streams for much of the way, until we reach the village of Kosmas which marks our finish.
We’ll have lunch under the plane trees and visit the cliff-hanging monastery of Elona, which is tucked into the rock face.
After some time to relax we have the option to stand up paddle board in the crystal waters of the Argolic Gulf.
Overnight Leonidio
DAY 4 | DESCENT TO THE SEA - HIDDEN TRAILS & MYTHIC CITIES
Trail Running: Approx. 16km
After breakfast we’ll drive to the Parnon Plateau, which marks the start of our trail at 1,000m where we descend all the way to the coast.
We travel on a wild and lesser-known trail through the hidden valley of Babale down to the finish in the remote fishing village of Kyparissi, where the mountains meet the turquoise sea. Our trail is complete!
We’ll take some time to relax, with a final visit planned to Monemvasia, a medieval rock fortress-town dubbed “The Gibraltar of the East” where we have some time set aside to explore the walled town, its narrow alleys, and sea-facing cliffs.
Heading back to our hotel with time to freshen up and relax, we’ll head out later to the Monemvasia winery, reviving the region’s ancient Malvasia wine for an evening of celebration and a local dinner.
Overnight Leonidio
DAY 5| FAREWELL & RETURN TO ATHENS (ATH)
Morning reflection and farewell gathering before we all return to Athens with a scenic drive and cultural stop along the way, visiting the Argos viewpoint & Corinth Canal. After a light lunch en route we’ll drop off at Athens Airport by mid-afternoon.

IMPORTANT NOTES
+ WHERE DO I MEET YOU?
Athens International Airport (ATH) is our starting and ending point for this adventure. We'll be running a private group transfer at a set time for us all to liaise with as the drive to Nafplio will take 1.5 hours. We ask that you try to arrive for midday.
On our final day we'll also be running a group transfer back to the airport for everyone. Please arrange for your onward flights to depart after 15:00 local time.
+ I HAVE DIETARY REQUIREMENTS, CAN YOU CATER FOR IT?
Absolutely. We include all meals on this adventure which are provided by local tavernas, vineyards and tasty local restaurants, and with enough notice we can ensure everyone is catered for.
+ WHAT IS THE TERRAIN LIKE?
We travel on a selection of quiet and beautiful trails that feature a mix of ancient paths, stunning gorges, and scenic village-to-village routes. We've staged these routes carefully, with a good ratio of guides to the group which allows us to run at our own pace, without pressure, backed up by a local support vehicle which travels with us at all times.
This dramatic land means we'll spend good time descending and ascending, but with very manageable daily distances we've made this trip suitable for all abilities.
+ WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
We will send you a complete packing list in advance of the trip beginning so you are clear on what to pack.
+ WHAT FITNESS IS REQUIRED FOR THE TRIP?
This trip is suitable for all abilities of runner, but you should have a base level of fitness to be able to handle three days of back to back running. It's also worth drawing your attention to the elevation involved in each of the days, being coastal trails with a variety of mountains you need to expect a reasonable bit of up, as well as descents as we weave our way along each day.
Our goal is not to run a race but for everybody to experience a beautiful journey.
+ WHAT ABOUT IF THE GROUP HAS A MIXTURE OF RUNNING ABILITIES?
Every trip we have ever run has a mixture of people and running abilities. These are NOT training camps, but adventures that are designed for an experience, you can expect a lot of stops, and a lot of laughter each day.
We also have two running guides on this trip which means we can bubble up with zero pressure around how fast or slow you'd like to run.
