Best Trail Running Holidays 2027: Every Pure Trails Destination
Eleven destinations, one filter: genuinely brilliant trail running. Here's the full round-up for 2027.
Picking a trail running holiday is a different exercise from picking a normal holiday. You're not just choosing a place — you're choosing terrain, a group size, a level of support, and a season. We run trips across four continents, and every single one earns its place on this list for a different reason: a mountain pass, a coastline, a culture, a level of remoteness you genuinely can't get to any other way.
Here's our full 2027 line-up — from a five-day introduction in the Mediterranean to a fifteen-day circumnavigation of the world's eighth-highest mountain.
1. Manaslu, Nepal — for the big one
Our most ambitious trip. Fifteen days, twelve of them on the trail, circumnavigating one of the highest mountains on the planet — climbing from subtropical river valleys at 700m to the Larkya-La Pass at 5,160m, the high point of our entire portfolio. Carefully paced for acclimatisation, with yak traders, remote villages and genuinely wild terrain throughout.
15 days · from £2,795pp · 14–28 November 2026 · Graded Challenging
2. Annapurna, Nepal — Himalayan running without the wait
Our other Nepal trip, run by our trusted local team on the ground. If Manaslu is the big one, Annapurna is the classic — one of the most storied trails in the world, reimagined for trail runners.
From £2,195pp · 17–29 April 2027
3. Uzbekistan — the Silk Road, on foot
One of the most extraordinary destinations we run, and one of the least expected. Nine days through the Karakum Desert, the hills above Bukhara, and the mountain valleys around Samarkand — three UNESCO Silk Road cities, a night under the stars in a traditional yurt camp, and trail running through a country almost nobody else associates with the sport.
9 days · from £2,695pp · 18–26 September 2027 · Graded Adventurous
"Pure Trails trips are unlike anything else I've done — the combination of serious trail running with genuinely extraordinary destinations is addictive. I came back a different person."
— Sarah M, Pure Trails Guest
4. Gran Canaria — new for 2027
Our newest destination, and one we're genuinely excited about. Four completely different landscapes in five days — a coastal headland, the volcanic interior of Pilancones Natural Park, the sacred summit of Roque Nublo at 1,813m, and the ancient Guayadeque Canyon with its cave restaurants carved into the cliff face. Based from a beautiful harbourside hotel in Puerto de Mogán.
5 days · from £1,595pp · 13–17 March or 2–6 October 2027 · Graded Adventurous
5. Lofoten, Norway — the boat-access adventure
Unlike anything else we run. Seven days sailing and running through the remote, otherworldly islands of Lofoten aboard Moondance — trails that only exist because a boat was willing to take us there. No roads in, no roads out, just wherever we drop anchor next. Genuinely tiny groups: max 6 guests.
7 days · from £3,495pp (early bird £3,295pp) · first 2027 departure 13–19 July
6. Amalfi Coast — Path of the Gods
One of our most popular trips, for good reason. Four days running some of the most spectacular coastal trails in the world — the Path of the Gods above Positano, ancient mule tracks between clifftop villages, and a descent into Amalfi itself on foot, above the crowds, the way it was always meant to be done.
5 days · from £1,395pp · Graded Adventurous
7. Mallorca — Into the Tramuntana
Turquoise coves and white sand beaches get all the attention, but head into the Tramuntana mountains and you'll find a UNESCO World Heritage Site rising steeply from the Mediterranean. Four days of trail running through orange and olive groves, ancient pilgrim paths and lush mountain tops, based at a beautiful boutique hotel on the beach in Port de Sóller.
5 days · from £1,395pp · 8–12 May or 9–13 October 2027 · Graded Adventurous
8. Lake District — the UK crossing
Most visitors see the Lakes in pieces. This is a genuine point-to-point crossing of England's finest National Park, south to north — mountain passes above Borrowdale, ridge trails along Derwentwater, and a finish at High Pike with the whole National Park laid out beneath you. Two brilliant 4★ bases along the way.
4 days · from £895pp · 4–7 August 2027 · Graded Moderate
9. Isle of Man — Britain's best-kept secret
Tucked quietly in the Irish Sea, the Isle of Man is the kind of place most people have never thought to visit — rugged coastal cliffs, rounded mountain peaks and hidden coves scattered with waterfalls. We cross the island south to north over four days, taking in the Chasms, Spanish Head, and a summit finish on Snaefell via the ancient Vie Regia route.
4 days · from £895pp · Graded Moderate
10. Lavaredo, Dolomites — technical mountain running
For runners who want something more technical, the Dolomites deliver in a way nowhere else on this list does. Dramatic limestone peaks, exposed ridgelines and genuinely mountainous terrain — fully guided and fully supported throughout.
From £2,595pp
11. Vietnam — Running the Dragon's Spine
Our fastest-selling trip in recent memory — both 2027 departures sold out, one of them overnight. Running the Dragon's Spine takes in some of Vietnam's most dramatic mountain terrain, a destination that's quickly become one of our guests' favourites.
