Blissful Mallorca is a real treat — turquoise coves, white sand beaches and sleepy provincial towns. But look a little to the north and you'll find the Tramuntana mountains, rising steeply from the blue waters of the Mediterranean and designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site for good reason.
We've put together an immersive four-day adventure combining all of the island's very best bits — running breathtaking trails along ancient pilgrim paths, through orange and olive groves, beautiful little towns, astonishing beaches and lush mountain tops. Outstanding views are guaranteed.
Each day we head out to a different trailhead across the island. The trip is fully supported — a vehicle meets us throughout with nutrition, food and water — and you'll be guided by two Pure Trails guides every step of the way. Our base is a beautiful hotel on the beaches of Port de Sóller — the perfect place to kick back and swim after a brilliant day on the trails.

Just metres from pristine beaches and the lapping shoreline of beautiful Port de Sóller. After a brilliant day on the trails, you'll have the pool, the beach and the Mediterranean on your doorstep. The perfect place to unwind, recover and do it all again tomorrow.
Every Pure Trails trip is led by guides who know the terrain intimately. Click to meet your team.

Book Your Free Call →There is plenty of choice when flying to Mallorca (PMI), with a wide range of direct and indirect flights from across Europe. We host group transfers on arrival and departure days, so please aim to land between 10:30 and 12:00 where possible.
If your flight falls outside this window, no problem — we can arrange a private transfer for a small additional fee. Just let us know in advance.
On departure day, the group transfer returns to Palma Airport after breakfast on Day 5 — we'd suggest booking return flights departing no earlier than 13:00 to give yourself plenty of time. Our meet point at arrivals is Gate 5.
British and US citizens can enter and remain in Spain for a maximum of 90 days in every 6-month period without a visa. We recommend checking the latest entry requirements for your nationality before booking.
Mallorca enjoys a Mediterranean climate year-round. We deliberately run this trip in spring and autumn when temperatures sit in the early-to-mid 20s°C with clear, sunny days — absolutely perfect conditions for trail running. You can expect warm days, cool evenings and very little rain during both the May and October departure windows.
At altitude in the Serra de Tramuntana, temperatures can drop by 5–8°C compared to the coast, so a lightweight mid layer is worth packing even in May. Sun protection is essential throughout — the combination of high UV at elevation and long hours on open trails means sunburn can catch people out quickly.
Trail running in Mallorca is magnificent. The routes are quiet and varied, travelling along dry-stone paths, through forests, and past orange, olive and citrus groves. We pass through traditional villages and provincial towns with cobbled streets and open-air cafés, all with the lofty Tramuntana mountains flanking us on one side.
Some sections climb steeply through wide canyons where the terrain becomes dry and rocky — care and attention are needed here. A handful of days include steeper climbs, but the payoff is spectacular views from the top that make every step worth it.
Trail shoes with a good grip are essential — road shoes are not suitable for this terrain. The ancient pilgrim paths and cobbled descents in particular can be slippery in places, especially if there has been any recent rain.
We cater for all abilities and Mallorca is the perfect setting for it. This is a journey, not a race — the aim is to enjoy every kilometre of the trail together. Pace naturally varies from person to person, and with two guides throughout we can accommodate everyone comfortably.
At times we may split into two groups, allowing everyone to move at their own comfortable pace without any pressure. Nobody gets left behind.
As a rough guide, if you're comfortably running 20–25km per week and can manage a couple of hours on your feet across back-to-back days, you'll be well placed to enjoy everything the trip has to offer. If you're in any doubt, just get in touch — we're always happy to have an honest conversation before you book.
Each day starts with breakfast at the hotel before we transfer to the trailhead — usually a short drive of 15–30 minutes. On the trail we cover between 15 and 24km depending on the day, with our support vehicle accessible at key points carrying extra water, snacks and any kit you don't want to carry.
Picnic lunches are prepared by the guides on running days and served at a scenic spot on the route. Afternoons are typically free to relax, swim in the bay or explore Port de Sóller at your own pace. In the evenings we head out together for dinner — the restaurant is on you, giving you the freedom to order exactly what you fancy.
We're based at Hotel Eden Nord in Port de Sóller throughout the trip — a charming boutique hotel set in the horseshoe bay of one of Mallorca's most beautiful coastal villages. The hotel sits directly above the water, with views across the bay and easy access to the seafront promenade, restaurants and the famous Sóller tram.
Accommodation is twin or double room with en-suite bathroom. Guests travelling solo will share with another guest of the same gender unless a single supplement is requested at the time of booking. Breakfasts are included throughout, along with picnic lunches on all running days.
Completely normal — nearly 90% of our guests arrive on their own. Pure Trails is deliberately designed around the solo traveller experience. You'll join a small group of like-minded people who share a love of running and exploring the world on foot. By the end of Day 1, you'll feel like you've known everyone for years.
Groups are capped at a maximum of 10 guests, which keeps the dynamic intimate and genuine. There's no awkward mingling required — the shared experience of running some of the most beautiful trails in the Mediterranean together takes care of that on its own.
If you'd like to speak with a previous guest before booking, just ask — we're always happy to connect you with someone who's been on the same trip.
Trail shoes are essential — the ancient cobbled pilgrim paths and rocky canyon sections require a shoe with a good grip and some lateral support. Road shoes are not suitable. If you're not sure what to choose, get in touch and we can advise based on your experience.
A running vest or lightweight pack is required each day to carry your water, snacks, a light layer and any personal medication. The full kit list is sent in your pre-departure pack three weeks before the trip, but key items include: trail shoes, running vest (1.5L minimum), waterproof or wind layer, sun protection (high SPF, hat and sunglasses), and any personal first aid or medication.
Yes — we run the picnic lunches ourselves and can cater for all dietary requirements including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and allergies. Just let us know on your booking form and the guides will be briefed in advance.
Breakfasts are hosted by the hotel and can accommodate most requirements with advance notice. In the evenings we head out together to local restaurants — the meal is on you, giving you the freedom to order exactly what you fancy. Mallorca has excellent food and great options for most diets.
Travel insurance is mandatory for all Pure Trails guests and must be in place before departure. Your policy must cover trail running activity, medical evacuation and trip cancellation. A standard travel insurance policy will not cover trail running — please check the small print carefully and look for policies that specifically include adventure sports or trail running as a covered activity.
We recommend providers such as Sports Cover Direct, Battleface or World Nomads, all of which offer appropriate trail running cover. You'll be asked to provide your insurance provider, policy number and emergency contact number as part of your booking form.
