WHERE WE STAY
THE KINGS HEAD, GOWER
We’ll be staying in cosy local pub for the two nights of this trip. The Kings Head offers a fantastic location with easy access to the route start and finish points. As a traditional local public house, it offers a good atmosphere and feel for this part of Wales. Both evenings will be spent dining in house and rooms are twin or double occupancy.
IMPORTANT NOTES
+ WHERE CAN I PARK MY CAR?
You can park your car at the offical Oxwich Bay car park (paid locally and costs approx. £6 per day) and leave it there for the duration.
Alternatively if you are arriving the night before you can leave your car at the Kings Head hotel for the duration of the trip as well.
Eitherway, we have transfers available to connect you back to your vehicle once the trip finishes.
+ WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE A CAR. HOW DO I GET THERE?
We'd recommend taking a train to Swansea central, and then connecting with the bus service which departs from Swansea Quadrant Bus Station to all parts of the Gower Peninsula.
+ I HAVE DIETARY REQUIRMENTS, CAN YOU CATER FOR IT?
Absolutely. We'll be running the aid points ourselves and can cater for everyone.
Breakfast and evening meals are hosted by the Kings Head Hotel on both days and any dietary requirements can be easily handled.
+ WHAT IS THE TERRAIN LIKE?
The terrain is undulating and includes some steep hill sections which we walk, as well as some steep downhill sections at times.
We’ll be running predominantly on coastal paths for day one which can be stoney and tight in sections. Day two will take in woodlands, expansive heathland scenery along with passing through quaint villages. Underfoot conditions consist of a mixture of hard-packed, as well as bouldery sections … and in Wales you should always expect there could be muddy sections!
+ WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
We will send you a complete packing list in advance of the trip beginning so you are clear on what to pack.
+ WHAT FITNESS IS REQUIRED FOR THE TRIP?
This trip is suitable for all abilities of runner, but you should have a base level of fitness to be able to handle two days of back to back running.
Our goal is not to run a race but for everybody to experience a beautiful journey.
+ WHAT ABOUT IF THE GROUP HAS A MIXTURE OF RUNNING ABILITIES?
Every trip we have ever run has a mixture of people and running abilities. These are NOT training camps, but adventures that are designed for an experience, you can expect a lot of stops, and ALOT of laughs each day.
We also have x 2 running guides on this trip which means we can bubble up with zero pressure around how fast or slow you'd like to run.
